Brian Maitland

Vice President, Safety Services

Responsibilities

Brian Maitland consults primarily with local governments and municipal joint insurance funds on all aspects of safety and loss control. Along with his service team, he assists clients with respect to addressing workers compensation and general liability exposures, as well as property issues, products liability and motor vehicle safety. He is responsible for performing safety training and loss control analysis and prevention as well as conducting underwriting surveys, developing safety action plans and coordinating loss control services and activities. He is currently the Safety Director for the following local Joint Insurance Funds: Bergen, Morris, NJ Utility Authorities, Suburban Essex, Suburban Municipal, and South Bergen.

Background

Maitland has over 13 years of progressive experience as a safety professional. Prior to joining J.A. Montgomery, he served as the Technical Director of Health and Safety Services for a nationwide engineering and consulting firm.
Maitland has extensive knowledge with OSHA general industry and construction regulatory standards. His previous responsibilities included providing regulatory compliance and health and safety services to public and private entities clients. He was responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the department.
