Assistant Director of Public Sector

Responsibilities

Robert Garish is an Assistant Director of Public Sector for J.A. Montgomery Risk Control. He is responsible for providing safety and risk control services to numerous municipal Joint Insurance Funds throughout New Jersey. Garish’s responsibilities include addressing workers compensation and general liability exposures, as well as property issues, products liability and motor vehicle safety. He is responsible for loss control analysis and prevention, assisting with safety training and coordinating loss control services and activities. He assists in preparing jobsite safety assessments and surveys, accident investigation and conducting facility inspections. Garish serves as a law enforcement liaison to the municipal JIF members. Additionally, he assists with coordinating and facilitating quarterly meetings of the Police Chief’s Ad Hoc Committee and advises on law enforcement risk management issues.

Background

Prior to joining J.A. Montgomery, Garish served in the Woodbury City Police Department where he was the Department’s K9 Officer. He has spent time in the Community Policing Unit, Directed Patrol Unit, and was part of a specialized narcotics task force with the DEA, FBI, and New Jersey State Police.

Garish has attended the National Safety Council’s Principles of Occupational Safety and Health and the OSHA 511 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry courses.
